G'day from a dessert highway

| By Kenneth Tristan André |

We had talked about renting a car or campervan from Adelaide or Melbourne and drive all the way up to Alice Springs and Darwin but this was easier said than done.

Still in Melbourne we went online to seek out other possibilitys to get to Darwin before February 14th. We ended up finding two tours of six and three days that could take us from Adelaide to Alice and from there to Darwin just in time to catch our flight to Bali, but the web page did not allow us to select dates during booking so we had to call them.

All was fully booked on the days we wanted, but the agent found a solution that sounded good in our ears, the downside was that we had to leave Melbourne earlier than expected. Yet another flight ticket had to be booked, this time with Virgin Australia. $122 Australian dollars incl. 1 bag.
This gave us a few hours in Adelaide before the transport to Alice Springs left in the evening.

When we got our tickets on e-mail we discovered that there was no tour between Adelaide and Alice Springs, but a over 20 hour long busride straight up with Greyhound Australia.
So now we are sitting here on a bus in the middle of dessert Australia and hopefully we'll arrive sometime tomorrow in Alice Springs.
